Laser Engraving
STANDARDAlso: laser etching, laser marking
A permanent, ink-free decoration method where a laser removes coating or marks bare steel so the metal beneath shows through.
Laser engraving uses a focused laser to remove the surface coating or mark bare steel, so the layer beneath shows through as the design. There is no ink involved, which means nothing to wear off, peel, or fade over time.
The result is permanent and single-color: whatever the laser reveals, such as bare steel on a powder-coated bottle or the metal itself on uncoated steel, becomes the mark. This limitation is also the appeal, since the finish has a clean, premium feel that suits minimalist brand marks and text.
It works on both powder-coated and bare stainless surfaces. Because it is a subtractive process, it is best for crisp line art and logos rather than filled photographic areas, and the contrast depends on the color and thickness of the coating beneath the laser.
Practical takeaway: Choose laser engraving when you want a permanent, premium single-color mark with no ink to wear off.
