Tritan Copolyester

Eastman's BPA-free copolyester, a clear, impact-resistant plastic for bottles and lid windows.
Tritan is Eastman’s brand name for a BPA-free copolyester. It is a clear, impact-resistant plastic used for bottle bodies, lid windows, and other parts where a glass-like look is wanted without the weight or breakage risk of glass.
Tritan handles impacts well and tolerates dishwasher cycles. Unlike polycarbonate, it does not gradually cloud after repeated hot washing.
It costs more than polypropylene or polycarbonate, so it usually appears on mid- to premium products. Verify the resin name with your supplier, because “Tritan” is a specific material, not a generic term for clear plastic.
Specifying Tritan is common on kids’ bottles and premium sports bottles, where clarity and impact resistance matter. It also holds its shape in lid windows that sit over hot liquids. Cheaper lookalike clear plastics can cloud or crack under repeated hot washing, so confirm the resin name before approving samples.
Practical takeaway: Specify Tritan when you need a clear, dishwasher-tolerant plastic part and can absorb the higher part cost.
